Safety Guide

Practical safety guidance for gate automation, access control, and security system operation and maintenance.

Last updated: March 28, 2026

General Safety

  • Keep children and pets away from moving gates, barriers, and operator mechanisms.
  • Do not walk, drive, or ride through a moving gate—wait until it comes to a complete stop.
  • Never attempt to “beat the gate” as it closes; reversing systems may not detect all obstacles.

Automated Gate Operation

  • Know the location of the manual release mechanism and keep the access key available.
  • Make sure safety devices (photo beams, safety edges, warning lights) remain unobstructed and operational.
  • If the gate behaves unexpectedly (jerking, unusual noises, inconsistent stopping), stop using it and request service.

Electrical and Backup Power

  • Do not open control boxes or touch wiring—only qualified technicians should service electrical components.
  • For systems with batteries or solar backup, follow the maintenance schedule to prevent failure.
  • After power outages, confirm normal operation before resuming routine use.

Access Control and Credentials

  • Protect remotes, cards, PINs, and mobile access; treat them like keys.
  • Change PINs when staff changes occur and revoke lost credentials immediately.
  • Use unique PINs where possible and avoid sharing credentials.

Maintenance

  • Schedule routine inspections to check alignment, hinges, rollers, lubrication, and safety sensors.
  • Keep the gate track and swing path clear of stones, debris, and vegetation.
  • Report any physical damage (bent track, loose posts, cracked welds) promptly.

Emergency Guidance

If there is a suspected safety hazard or injury risk:

  1. Stop using the gate/system immediately.
  2. If safe to do so, disconnect power using the designated isolation switch (do not open panels).
  3. Contact our support team for guidance and service scheduling.
